Where I'd like to be right now

my views walking into town every morning

Italy.

My husband and I were in Venice a few weeks ago, and the moment we crossed over onto Italian soil I felt it. The feeling of being home. I'm mentioned plenty of times that I studied abroad there in college and no place has ever come quite as close to feeling like home (well, besides home itself :) ).

If I had my choice I would be right back in Cortona (this time with J in tow.) Sitting on the steps of the town hall in piazza signorelli, eating a number 4 (spinach, pesto, mozzarella and tomato sandwiched in a fresh baked roll) from molesini's grocery store people watching and sketching.

I learned and experienced so much there-from what I wanted from life and who I truly was, to what I was passionate about and how important it is to surround yourself with passionate people. It was one of the best summers of my life and I can't wait to go back and share it with J.

Oh! And on a side note. There was something incredibly special about this particular summer- it was the summer Italy won the World Cup.

By far one of my best memories was the exact moment Italy won. The entire town, all of which were sitting in the piazza watching the game on a screen that had been set up, went crazy. Bottles of prosecco (we were in Italy, not France ;) ) were popped, flare guns and fireworks were set off, and everyone was dancing and waving the Italian flag. Next thing we knew an impromptu paradehad started. I was picked up (literally- by the waist) as well as another girl I was studying with and put into a car with two locals boys who drove us in the parade on their home made float. It was a blast. In case you can't picture it, here you go.

surprisingly, all of it was clean by the time the shops opened the next morning.

Haev a wonderful weekend everyone!!!
